The big screen and the sound is still superior to what you can get at home, even accepting that the black levels on my OLED are better than I see at the cinema. When your entire field of view is an image, enjoying something with a large crowd of people where you can sense the emotions working for everyone - fear, laughter, surprise, etc - there's nothing that beats the cinema experience. I just wish it was financially more viable these days, and there was less competition at home. Not sure of your age, but I much prefer when I was younger and everyone saw great movies at the cinema - then enjoyed them at home months later. There was a great rhythm to it and culture was less fragmented and complex.
