I agree. But for the UK the frustration of a dysfunctional government is knottier, because some of the hardships stem from policies we have no control of here in the UK itself. It would be like the USA accepting that Mexico can have a say in some of its affairs, at the cost of $480m a week to the American tax-payer, and you can’t reform key issues your own people disagree with because they’re fundamental to the wider goals of the partnership.
