Claps seem to be utterly pointless now then. Might as well change that to a simple Like button, as it was always confusing how many claps is “good” anyway. And wasn’t payments easier to calculate based on claps, which sort of equal pennies per clap in our minds?

Even my most popular articles that have been curated have low “reads”, as people skim read by nature. Who has ever SERIOUSLY spent 10 mins on an article claiming to take 10 mins to read? Medium should just chalk up a “read” if a reader scrolls to the bottom and has spent more than 1 minute there.
